Daily Worshipers Devotionals - week 1

 

Wednesday September 1st -  Daily Worshiper….. Day 1

When we think of worship we tend to think about singing our favorite songs at church. Worship is much more than just singing at church. For the next 30 days we are going to take a daily journey together and discover how we can be daily worshipers of our Lord and God!
Each day we will take a song – check out its lyrics, how it relates to the scripture and most importantly how it magnifies God.  Of all the songs that I could think of – I remembered the first lines line in today’s song and the impact it has. It goes like this…..

I see Your face in every sunrise,  The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day,  I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful.”

In scripture we read a awesome anthem of praise, as David the Lord by just expressing his confidence, trust and hope. David also recognizes Gods beauty as well as his grace. Let’s check it out below.

Psalm 27
27:1  Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? Many times we get so busy living life that we neglect the spiritual side of who we are. We wouldn’t think of going for days without eating/drinking (physical side) Or going a week without being able to talk to those we love (emotional side) yet we let the spiritual side just slip! Today we are going to look at Philippians 2:8-11 an discover our attitudes as well as our worship has to daily be shifted towards that wonderful name of the one who paid for your sin!

Philippians 2:8-11
5  Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7  but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross! 9  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I love verse 10 and 11  “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Friday September 3rd -  Daily Worshiper….. Day 3

When you hear the word “heal” or “healed” we always think of a physical illness or miracle! Those do happen but I believe if we are going to be daily worshipers we all need to be “healed” from something that always seems to take priority of our daily walk with Jesus. Our problem is simple; its us! We have become so used to our sinful life that we don’t listen to God much anymore. Jesus tell us in Matthew 13 that we have hope! Let’s take a look!

Matthew 13:14-15
14  In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15  For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

What do YOU need to be healed of today? What is it that God needs to show you? What words do you need to hear? Today’s song is an amazing song with a weird twist. The song was amazing and recorded by Hillsong. But, the guy who wrote the words had told everyone that he was sick and he wasn’t. You see even the author of the song STILL needed to be healed …..

Saturday September 4th -  Daily Worshiper….. Day 4

 

Today I am going to share one of my all time favorite songs. I LOVE cranking up this song and just singing, you know how it is! So I am going to go ahead and give you the lyrics and then talk about it….

The bible tell us in 1 Corinthians 2: 9  However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"—

 

Can you understand the depth of this? Even in our wildest dreams we can even come close to understanding what God is planning for us when we get to heaven with Him! I know we talk about Heaven, Jesus coming back for us or even death – and we know that those who belong to God through Jesus will be there one day. But, listen to the song or just read the lyrics again and think about how much God loves you and that ONE day you will get to see Him and how awesome that will be!

This song means so much from the very first line. We sometime have this image of this God in our head that he is waiting for us to mess up so he can pound us and tell us what we did was so stupid. We in reality, even though there are consequences to sin, God still loves us no matter what and he cares about me. satans goal is to keep the sins that I have committed freshly in my mind to try an keep me away from God. But in all truth, when I ask for forgiveness, Christ loves me and throws my sins into the bottom of the ocean and as far as the east is from the west!

 

Psalms 103:12 He has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west!!!!

 

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

So, don't focus on your past failures today, focus on your future and the changes that Christ has made in your heart! Let HIM heal you…

 How strong do you really think that you are?

Do you think that you can take on the world?

Well, the fact is you are actually very weak.

You don’t even know your own weakness.

And God planned us that way….

You think about strong people, and I don’t mean physically strong people, but people that can go through HORRIBLE circumstances and still stand strong in there walk with Christ, what do you think they have that makes them strong?

 

It’s the POWER of the Holy Spirit and the Strength that they draw from Him.

 

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD  will renew their strength. 
       They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, 
       they will walk and not be faint.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us

The POWER is there! We just have to spend our time with God, daily!

How does it feel to be lonely? Or just a feeling like your alone and just need someone to talk to. We have all been there at one point in our lives. An it not a great feeling at all. But what is so amazing about God the Father is that he is ALWAYS there for us no matter what! He tells us in His word in the book of Hebrews 13:5 that He will NEVER leave us or forsake . What an amazing promise. Today, really notice the fact that Father God is there with you.. No matter were you are, just be careful were you take Him!
